Univ.-Prof. Dr. Martin Kocher appointed new Minister of Labour

On 1 February 2021, Univ.-Prof. Dr. Martin Kocher was appointed Federal Minister for Labour by Federal President Alexander Van der Bellen. His agendas include the Labour Market, Labour Law as well as Occupational Health and Safety.

Prior to that, he had been in charge of Labour, Families and Youth since 11 January 2021. However, with the amendent of the Ministerial Law (in German: Bundesministeriengesetz-Novelle) on 1 February 2021, the agendas Family and Youth were transferred to the Federal Chancellery.
